Why Japanese love so much the gadgets?

I have come to the conclusion that the majority of gadgets are developed by Japanese.

I have started this thread to find out why the Japanese love gadgets so much.

One of the main reasons, I think is the fact that Japanese travel a lot with trains and they need something to kill the time and relax.
